Who I Am!

I have a little bookmark a friend of mine gave me which contains some powerful words that I have been trying to read through and quote each and every day. This bookmark is printed by Freedom in Christ Ministries, and I cannot begin to tell you how doing this simple routine is impacting my life.

Once, I heard a man talking about how speaking the Word of God to yourself, out loud, can literally rewire your brain. The man speaking was a Christian neurologist who was actively researching and studying this phenomenon. He said that it was very important to speak OUT LOUD to yourself so that your brain can hear it. Interesting huh? But, I believe it is totally biblical as well. As the Bible says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God." And also we are to be "transformed by the renewing of our minds..."

I just wanted to share this with you all, because frankly, the identity we have in our Lord Jesus Christ, who we are in Him, is the ONLY identity that truly matters. It's true! We may be mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, teachers, business men, engineers, homeschoolers, preachers, whatever. But these are roles, my friend. This is not who we ARE. These are the roles we fulfill. These are hopefully our callings, but they are not our identity. For, actually if we are truly in Christ, we have died, and it is no longer we that live, but Christ that lives in us!

I pray this list will bring a blessing to you, will bring peace to you, will bring healing and encouragement to you. And I pray you will copy them and join me in speaking them out loud to your mind each and every morning. If you are in Christ, then every promise is for you!

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
