I'm ALIVE!

I feel as if I am returning from a movie, an oh so famous and beloved movie...The Night of The Living Dead! Ever heard of it? But, at least I am returning, right? Yes, the flu, or whatever this crummy thing was, is definitely not a party! But, praise be to the Most High, He is the Healer. He is Jehovah Rapha, and I will continue to lift up praises to Him as long as I have breath! He restores our souls!!

Sometimes becoming physically sick can give us a chance to slow down and think about the things that really matter. Sometimes, the Lord can force us to rest, something He has been beckoning us to do for a long time. When I am weak, then I am strong. Sometimes, we are forced into our weakest so that we can truly see how very weak we really are...in our own strength. This seems to happen to me one way or another every day! Yet, I am thankful that God's grace is truly sufficient for me, and I know it first-hand!

I have wondered if I have allowed my immune system to become very weak because I try to "emotionally" carry everyone in my family, including my own stormy and tumultuous emotions. As a mother, I find this can become extremely easy to fall into. You wake up one day and look in the mirror and are slightly taken aback. "Who am I?" you want to cry out. Can I get a witness out there, any of you moms reading this in blogville?

When I was sick, God spoke to me through that old, simple song, "Jesus Loves Me." It was as if I was a little girl in His arms, and He was just allowing me to be needy, frightened, and small in His lap. It was just what I needed, my friends. Whatever you may be facing, He can and WILL comfort you as well. Just say, "Daddy, Father, I need you now. I need you right now." He will be there for you, too.

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
