Well, the week of Ellie's court date is finally here! Thursday, Feb. 21st is her scheduled court date in Ethiopia, so please pray for it all to go through as planned. We so appreciate your prayers for us and for Ellie. It all seems so surreal!
Coming out of this flu fog, I am becoming much more excited and aware than ever before about our whole adoption adventure. It is truly an amazing thing to be going through. It's not without its troubles, for sure! We do have an enemy in this world, and he likes nothing more than to try to thwart God's plans and to destroy His people by whatever means necessary; sickness, distraction, offense, confusion, and who knows what else! But, the victory is in Jesus, for He has already conquered sin, death and the devil. Satan is already defeated. He is a Liar, the father or lies. He cannot touch a child of God without permission, as we see in Job's life. He knows His time is short, and He is going to begin unleashing more and more until Jesus' return. What can I say? What shall we say? I say, "Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!"
This morning, I spoke at a pastor friend's church in Eddyville, KY. I sang a song, my husband spoke a few words, and then I brought a message to the people. It was a very sweet time, as I have never "preached" before. I really enjoyed it! I remember as a little girl that I would thoroughly enjoy standing behind a pulpit and banging a big, old Bible, "preaching" my lungs out! I am so thankful that I could share a message on my heart -- to be the voice for those with no voice. To speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves -- the poor and the needy.
I praise my Father for His healing power, that I didn't have to cancel this time because of sickness. And that He even empowers us more when we are weak, because when we are weak, He is certainly strong! Thank you all for your prayers. They were answered in more ways than one!

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
