Relaxing and Coloring

After lunch, I asked the children what they would like to do together. The boys love to sit at their desks and draw, so that is what they wanted to do. So, I joined them by lying in the floor and coloring in a coloring book. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. We laid and colored for about 1 hour, and I had such a good time. It seems that coloring took me back in time to when I was just a little girl. I think I always enjoyed coloring, not so much drawing, but coloring. So, I had a wonderful experience today with my children just being a kid again. I told myself that I must remember to do this more often! Take a look at my masterpiece. It really symbolizes what I was feeling while lying on the floor surrounded by my kiddos. My spirit was soaring.

I encourage you. Take a break and just be. Just be with your children doing what it is they like to do. Is it coloring a picture? Is it playing a board game? I am convinced this time is far more important than anything else we could do in our home. And an added bonus is that you get to experience childhood pleasures alongside of your children. What fun!

I loved this blog entry! Brought back lots of memories! We used to sit and color together for hours when you were just a little girl!
Now you are sharing those same experiences with your children. What a wonder!!!

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
