Lots of Whooping Going on!

Through some close friends of ours, our little Micah has contracted a case of the whooping cough. It is some nasty stuff! Last night, I was awakened by a shrill gasp coming from Micah's room. It then culminated in about an hour of harsh coughing. I had been reading on home remedies for this condition, so I gave him some tumeric with raw honey mixed together. It really helped. The weird thing about this cough is that it attacks mainly at night. Children feel fine during the day. Weird, huh?

There is no known cure for whooping cough, and even though Micah had been vaccinated, you can still get the illness. Go figure! Anyway, so far, Micah is the only one with it. We will be out of commission for a while, as it is contagious for quite some time. It is very hard to diagnose whooping cough, so I suspect the incidence for this thing is far higher than what is reported.
