Top Ten Things That Make Me Happy

The Lord truly blessed me today with a little piece of paper that Abraham received in Sunday School today. The paper said, "Ten Things That Make Me Happy." Then, Abraham's teacher had written ten things that Abraham had asked him to write.

I don't know about you, but often on the Monday morning of a new week, an overwhelming feeling, sort of like a dread, tries to creep up over me and take control. Yet, this little piece of paper with Abraham's precious yet simple answers were the Lord's way of revealing to me that He is with us. The life we live unto the Lord is meaningful, is valuable, is a wonderful fragrance unto our God and is never in vain. Though others may not see, and though you at times may forget or become sidetracked, the Lord's purposes and plans never become sidetracked.

Abraham's simple childlike responses reminded me that we are not to grow weary in doing good, that we are to remain faithful, for there is a great reward which is coming, which is Christ himself. With a childlike faith, being thankful for the simple pleasures in life, we can stay focused on our Lord and find our joy in this journey of life.

Here were Abraham's "Top Ten Things That Make Me Happy" (drum roll please)

1. Home school...working on stuff with mom
2. My brother
3. Friends...cause we can play
4. Food...tastes good
5. My family
6. My cats
7. Clothes
8. My house
9. My bed...comfortable
10. Shoes...walk good

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
