Well, what a day it was! I believe we must have had the Lord's angels working overtime for us today! And for that, I am so truly grateful!
The boys, Nami and I went to a friend's house to swim in their pool today. It was a beautiful, hot, August day in the South, and we were having a blast together. The owners of the home, which are close friends of ours, had gone to the race track and left us there alone. Nami and I were goofing around at one side of the pool when I faintly heard a short gulping sound, which Nami says he didn't even hear. I turned around instinctively to see Abraham bobbing and choking on water on the other side of the pool (above ground, but big and definitely over Abraham's head). I swam immediately to him and took him in my arms as he choked and sputtered and threw up some water. He said, "Mommy, I went underwater and I couldn't come up or talk. I couldn't say help." I truly believe an angel lifted him up from the bottom to give him a few sounds of which I heard. Thank you, Jesus.
Then, on the way home, we decided to stop by a friend's house with whom we attend church. Their house is on the same road as our pool friends, so we felt we needed to visit. As I was sitting on the back porch on a swing with my friend, talking and watching the children play in the yard, I turned and heard Micah crying and yelling. I looked up and dashed off down the hill to where he was, not sure what was the matter. When I got there, he was screaming, "That dog! That dog!" and holding his arm. I looked at his arm and felt a shiver in my body. This dog, a pit bull which my friends had been "sitting" for their son, had bitten Micah on the back of his upper arm. It was all red and turning purple. Yet, to my utter amazement, there were no puncture wounds at all. I was truly grateful and thankful for that! Again, I believe an angel was there to keep the dog's bite from being much worse than it could have been.
Needless to say, we had an eventful day. Oh, not to mention that my husband Nami cut his finger on a razor early this morning! So, I praise the Lord that we are all in one piece tonight, safely tucked in our home. I am so grateful for our Loving and Ever Mindful Lord over our lives.

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
