Nahid Homestudy Approved!

Well, my heart is rejoicing that one more step in this long adoption journey is completed. I received the call today from our social worker that 3 copies of our certified homestudy will be sent to us tomorrow in the mail! One copy was also sent to the immigration offices. So, once we get those copies, we can go ahead and send our requirements to the Acres of Hope orphanage agency!

Yes, it is true that we are just in the very beginning stages of this journey, but to have the homestudy behind us is HUGE! I am so thankful! Once we send in our application, homestudy and many other required documents and items, then it could take up to 3 months to receive a referral for a child. That's okay though, as we must daily learn to wait upon the Lord's perfect timing. I am learning this more and more as I walk with Jesus, that Time is in His hands, not mine. While it is true that international adoptions tend to take much longer than I think they should, we musn't get ahead of the Lord.

Please pray for all the other families who are currently in the adoption process for Liberian children as well. Right now, there is a new policy being set up in our American embassy there, and it is apparently causing a great delay in families receiving visas for their children's return to the U.S. This new procedure is causing a great backlog and is causing adoptions to become delayed.

Here are some excellent family blogs of those currently adopting and/or who have children from Liberia:

Tina!
Congrats! Welcome to the journey:) You will see Your God do things around you, in you, and thru you, that you have never imagined...just by saying YES! to this and then DOING IT! Looking forward to seeing that picture of your Liberian child:)

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
