I don't know about you, but Sunday mornings at the Nahid home are somewhat chaotic, especially as the time for our church service draws near. Yet, I did get a chance to catch to catch one more settled moment of Abraham helping Micah to put his clothes on and button his shirt.
These are the characteristics I desire to instill in my sons, whether it is Sunday morning or any other time of the week. My mantra these days seems to be one that our pastor taught about several Sundays ago, that yes, in fact, we are our brothers keeper. So, being as I have two sons, I have been trying to instill in each of them that they are their brother's keeper, that they are responsible for one another's welfare wherever they go. For example, when they are playing together in the Kid's Corner at the YMCA and Abraham has an older friend, I am teaching him not to leave out his younger brother for an older friend. It seems such a simple concept, yet these fundamental teachings are unfortunately often abandoned by the wayside in our harried and busy lives in this country.
Well, I must be off to the house of the Lord now. What a privilege it truly is to be able to freely worship my Creator in the fellowship of other believers. May the Lord give us a heart of unity and love one for another.
