I pray you will be blessed by these words today. May the Shalom and the Love of God be made manifest in each of you today.
His Eye Is On The Sparrow

I was sitting at my computer this morning when I heard wafting in the background from my little counter-top radio a song that is very near and dear to my heart, that I have not heard in a very long time. This familiar hymn, His Eye Is On The Sparrow, began to fill my soul with such overwhelming love and joy for my Lord that I can hardly explain.
When a young girl, I sang this song upon my grandmother's request, and she used to love to hear me sing this song in particular. I would look out into the crowd and see her on the front row with quiet tears glistening in the corner of her eyes as she listened and silently sang along. My heart would be so touched as I sang just from knowing the joy that she was receiving from this song.
Today, as I heard the beautiful rendition, I was flooded with the absolute love and grace of our merciful Lord. You see, even though I sang this song about God watching me, about being free, about letting not my heart be troubled, I was troubled, I wasn’t free. I had yet to meet the One who could truly set me free for all eternity, but He knew me intimately because He created me.
I believe the Lord Jesus had His holy hand upon my life and was planting His seeds inside of me even then. I had yet to come unto Him in true repentance and faith, but still he was showing me His perfect character. His Spirit was always beckoning to me as He is to all those who will allow Him to come into their lives and truly become Lord.
It is my prayer that each of you today will remember and meditate on the precious promise that is within this beautiful hymn. His eyes are truly upon sparrows, so how much more are His eyes upon us at all times? He is more precious than all of life, and I am learning this daily, for He is Life itself.
He is not a part or portion of your life my dear believer, He is your Life. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Meditate upon the words of this hymn, listen to its beautiful melody, and most of all, be encouraged in our God, for He is Love and He will never leave or forsake you.
