I read this news article posted below today, and my heart just broke. If only these women could know how much Jesus (Yeshua) loves them and what an advocate He was and IS for women in this world. What a gem and crown of creation women are to Him! This is a perfect example of what Stasi Eldredge calls the "special hatred" that the evil one has for females. I will expound on this in my next post. For now, we as free women in America should sincerely pray for our sisters in this world who are being oppressed, beaten and killed at the hands of the evil, wicked and ignorant.
SIX ISLAMIC WOMEN DEAD FOR ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A CHOICE: The parents of Saira Nusrat Bibi married her off at age nine to a man 45-years-old. At age 17, she filed for an annulment and was successfully winning a legal battle in the Pakistani city of Punjbi, to end the forced nuptials. Instead, her life was terminated days ago as she left court. Saira was encircled by a group of men, sent by her family, and gunned down in front of police. It is one of a series of recent so called "honor killings," in Pakistan, where over 97% of the population is Muslim. Last month, three teenage girls attempted to choose their own husbands in the province of Baluchistan. Male elders in the village decided they needed to protect their "honor." They kidnapped the three girls, first shooting them to prevent their escape, and then buried them alive. When two family members attempted to intervene they too were shot - while still living - and buried with the girls. (Fox News) Pray for women in the Muslim world to receive news of Yeshua. He is the only good news in our increasingly troubled world.

Hi Tina,
The story of these women touched my heart this morning. My thought was, "well now they marry the Lover of their souls." May it be so. I have read Captivating, and I know what you mean. It was one of several books recommended to me during the first few years following my divorce. The book was a blessing because it named what I was feeling and it has helped me receive Jesus' love more. You know the woman that came and annointed Him just kept her eyes on Him; she did not shy away even though she must have felt the condemnation of the other men in the room. The Man validated her and her offering...and it was all she needed. Blessings to you this morning. I love reading your blog and seeing your sweet children!
