The 4 A's

http://www.4-ahealing.com/

I have recently read a very comprehensive and outstanding book entitled
Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma, and Allergies
by Dr. Kenneth Bock. I cannot recommend this book more highly, because the fate of many of our children is at stake in these times.

One particular point I would like to bring out today is that of specific food reactions. This area of allergy is so often overlooked by traditional medicine that it is quite frankly infuriating. The vast majority of children suffering from these "4-A" disorders, as they are called, have IgE or IgG food sensitivities and various food intolerances. Here is a list of the top 6 most reactive foods:

1. Wheat
2. Dairy products
3. Eggs
4. Peanuts
5. Corn
6. Soy

When my own son Abraham was 3 year old, he tested sensitivity/reactive/allergic to all 6 of these...and more. It is extremely sad that there are countless children suffering because of how their bodies are reacting to these top 6 foods alone. I urge anyone whose child suffers from any of these conditions (autism, asthma, allergies or ADHD) to have them tested for both IgE and IgG antibodies to these 6 foods. Just tell your doctor that this is what you would like to have done, because believe me, unless you visit a holistic physician, this option will most likely never be presented to you unfortunately. We must often be the advocates for our health, being proactive rather than blindly led. You can even order a food allergy blood test to be done and returned in the privacy of your own home, without a physician, yet this is more expensive as it is not covered by insurance.

As to why the explosion of all these childhood epidemics, they are many theories and continual research being done. This book explores much of that and is fascinating as well. I will bring up some of these theories and studies, which can be quite controversial, in a later blog.

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
