Jesus, Our Flint-Faced Savior

The Lord GOD has opened My ear;
And I was not rebellious,
Nor did I turn away.
I gave My back to those who struck Me,
And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard;
I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.
“ For the Lord GOD will help Me;
Therefore I will not be disgraced;
Therefore I have set My face like a flint,
And I know that I will not be ashamed.
He is near who justifies Me;
Who will contend with Me?
Let us stand together.
Who is My adversary?
Let him come near Me.
Surely the Lord GOD will help Me;
Who is he who will condemn Me?
Indeed they will all grow old like a garment;
The moth will eat them up.
“ Who among you fears the LORD?
Who obeys the voice of His Servant?
Who walks in darkness
And has no light?
Let him trust in the name of the LORD
And rely upon his God.
Look, all you who kindle a fire,
Who encircle yourselves with sparks:
Walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks you have kindled—
This you shall have from My hand:
You shall lie down in torment.
Isaiah 50:5-11

Ah, my precious Beloved Jesus. He set His face like a flint to do His Father's will. I am so glad He didn't allow the accusations of men to deter Him, to deter His Father's will from coming forth in His life. Why? Because we would be without hope, my dear ones. We would be utterly cast away. But no, not Jesus, not our Lord! He set His face and walked to that cross for us!

Let us, my beloved sisters and brothers, let us walk to the cross, despising the shame or the praise of men. Let us carry our cross and follow Him at all costs. Costs of family, cost of those whom called us friends, cost of our very lives. May we never bow to the wishes and whims of mortal man, but follow our Redeemer. Knowing that His blood is enough, His cross was enough. Let us say that He is truly all we need! Oh, teach me, Divine Teacher! Lead us, Divine Leader! Holy Spirit, the Ruach Hakodesh! You are like the wind that blows. Let us follow where you lead.

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
