Great Quote for Today

Below is a great excerpt from Ann Spangler's awesome book "Sitting At The Feet of Rabbi Jesus."

"Even though Christ called his followers to go out and make disciples, he was not endorsing a model of self-important leadership. An authoritarian style of leadership has little to do with Christ and everything to do with human ego. Some Christians, out of ignorance or passivity, have given away personal responsibility for their lives. Tragically, some leaders have encouraged them to do so."

Bek and I were talking about this today in respect to women identifying with being "the weaker vessels" even though scripture does not back this. Maybe it is easier if we do not have to take personal responsibility to step into what God has called us so people are more apt to freely hand over this control/direction.

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
