Though He Slay Me

Scripture Reading: Job 13

Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
He also shall be my salvation: for a hypocrite shall not come before him.
Job 13:15-16

Father, who of us is like Job? Who of us will trust you to the point of our death? Father, may we have this kind of radical trust in you today and always. Not my will, but yours be done. Our lives are in your hands, Sovereign God. You alone hold the keys to life and death, and we must choose this day whom we shall serve. I choose to serve you, Lord, to trust you, Lord, when everything else around me is falling apart on all sides. Give us a heart like Job, a steadfast and committed heart.

Lord, take all hypocrisy from our lives, I pray. Your Son, Jesus, is our salvation. And we must come before you with clean hands and a pure heart, like David said. Father, bless your people with a steadfast faith to believe in you above all else, to trust in your Word above everything. May we be willing to follow you unto death; death of our wills and the physical death of our bodies.

Though we may feel like we are being slayed, though we may feel like death is creeping up on all sides, may we say with Job that we WILL trust you, that your ARE salvation. I cry out for your people, Lord, today. We approach your throne today through the blood of our High Priest, Jesus the Messiah. Amen.

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
