Please Pray for The Chapman Family

Just wanted to ask you all for prayer for the family of Steven Curtis Chapman. My heart is so heavy for them right now. Their adoption ministry has been an inspiration to us on our adoption journey and to so many others as well. I will never forget going to one of SCC's concerts and being so touched and moved to the ministry of adoption. I know the Lord used that time to speak to our hearts.

Please pray for them now. Below is a short article about the tragedy.

By now many of you are aware of the terrible tragedy suffered by the family of award-winning Christian singer/songwriter, Steven Curtis Chapman.

Steven’s five year-old daughter, Maria, died yesterday after being struck in the family’s driveway by a car driven by her teenage brother. Maria was the youngest of three daughters that Steven and his wife, Mary Beth, have adopted from China.

The Chapman family, longtime proponents of domestic and international adoption, established the nonprofit organization, Shaohannah's Hope, "to care for orphans by engaging the church and helping Christian families reduce the financial barrier to adoption."

In honor of Maria, World Orphans is making a contribution to this precious ministry and will also match, up to $10,000, any funds sent to us for this purpose.

Please pray for the Chapman family during this incredibly difficult time as they grieve the loss of a precious girl who had the opportunity to know a loving earthly father before meeting her heavenly one. Please also pray for the Chapman’s teenage son, that he will find God’s peace and comfort after such a terrible

accident.
