Snippets

Well, we are doing well in the Nahid home. We are slowly getting back into life a bit. Sunday we went to church, and Ellie did so well. She stayed with me in the nursery and played. She is a very friendly child, definitely likes attention. I am trying not to be overprotective of her, but it is so hard. She will allow someone else to hold her now (or I will I should say), but only for a second. Her eyes are on me, and she reaches out to come back. I am so glad for that! We are bonding very well, and I thank God for His wonderful grace in each day.

She is a little jokester as well. I love her little laugh, but she definitely is a fireball when it comes to a temper tantrum! I just hold her through it all and rock her. This seems to really calm her down. The boys are so good to her. Today when she was crying, Micah said in a high-pitched, very motherly tone, "Whatsa matta, Cutie Pie?" It was so precious and funny. While Micah is my nurturer, Abraham is my dutiful helper. This morning, she was sitting at my feet pulling on my leg crying, wanting to be picked up "just because." I said, "Abraham, come play with Ellie!" He came running, whisked her up in his arms and took her to the living room to play. How wonderful of him!

It is amazing the process that takes place in adoption between mother and child. I must say that I did not have some kind of mystical, overwhelming love feeling right from the start, but it is growing each day so amazingly. I just look in her eyes and am in awe. I love to kiss her little poochy lips and to wipe away her tears. I was pondering on the spirit of adoption today and the Holy Spirit was "downloading" (as my pastor says) some insight. Will save that for another blog though. Enjoy the pictures!

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
