Waiting Seasons

Waiting is a very under-rated position in which one can find themselves. Waiting is extremely difficult for us as Americans. We don't like to wait. We like everything fast and furious. We want it now. Better yet, we want it yesterday. We have this habit of thinking that we know not only what we need, but when we need it.

Yet, I believe learning to wait on the Lord is essential to a victorious life in Jesus Christ. The practice of waiting on the Lord is one that is only taught with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Without His leading in our lives, we will never be good "waiters." We will always be rushing out ahead of Him, pursuing our dreams or our destinies without His leading. This, of course, will usually lead to our failure, not because we pursued the wrong destiny or calling, but because it wasn't TIME. Everything has a season, and this I am learning daily. The adoption journey is opening my eyes more and more to the waiting seasons that God brings into our lives.

I want to learn to wait upon the Lord, so my strength will be renewed, so I can mount up with wings as an eagle, so I can run and not grow weary, so I can walk and not faint. This is why I want to wait upon my Lord. Do you want these awesome blessings as well? Are you willing to wait?

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
