Pray and Fast for Israel

As we are fasting, let us be also be in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Israel, especially those of the household of faith (the Messianic believers in Jesus). The scripture clearly teaches that as believers, we are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and to bless them both spiritually and materially, so it must be an important prayer concern to God!

If this is difficult, strange, or weird to you, just pray and ask the Father to bring the true revelation of your Jewish roots into your life. Ask Him to open your eyes and give you the understanding and the heart of compassion that Jesus has and to lead you into all truth. By His Spirit, He certainly will! Also, pray for their enemies and ours as Jesus commanded, that the eyes of their heart be opened and that they receive the One who loves them and died to give them life. Many Palestinians and Muslims world-wide are receiving the Lord as their Savior and embracing the Jews in love. How exciting is that?!

Mahesh and Bonnie Chavda share important words about prayer and Israel in their latest book Storm Warrior: A Believer's Strategy for Victory.

Pray that your national leaders will be servants of the Lord and friends of Israel. In fact, a sure way to bring blessing to a nation is for the saints to intervene in prayer not only for the peace of Jerusalem but also for their nations to be friends of Israel.

Many nations are in danger because of their blindness regarding blessing Israel. One of God's eternal promises is His covenant with the descendants of Abraham through His son Isaac. That promise holds for the Jewish people in every generation - including this one. One of the essential revelations for every Gentile believer is the fact that we have been grafted in to an ancient Jewish root.

The international crisis of Daniel's day had a direct bearing on the nation of Israel. The archangel Michael is called Israel's "prince," meaning one with governmental authority who "stands up" for God's people - in this case the Jews - in a time of trouble. God defends Israel from her enemies and blesses those who bless her. He has assigned the archangel Michael as the special protector of the nation of Israel. Considering the fact that one angel in Scripture could slay ten thousand with one blow, we should fear to touch the apple of God's eye through any national or international means.

It doesn't take monumental feats to make the world a better place. It can be as simple as letting someone go ahead of you in a grocery line.
